Gobble Gobble Give ' Wee Feed The Homeless

POTLUCK WITH A PURPOSE

For over 24 years, a group of friends in Los Angeles have gotten together on Thanksgiving morning to feed the homeless in their neighborhood. They all bring a dish of traditional holiday food, some gently used clothes and shoes, and maybe a blanket or two. Together these friends gather around a table where they catch up on each other’s lives and pack their homemade dishes into great big take-out containers, and then they get back into their cars, hop on their bikes or set out walking down the street where they find people living in a car, in an alley or under a bridge.

The first year we fed 28 people. In 2015, we fed a record-breaking 17,000 people and each year we keep growing. In 2019 we served over 33,000 meals! Gobble Gobble Give has now grown from Echo Park in Los Angeles to 28 locations overall. It is a prime example of what a community can do when it comes together to create change.

Over the years we have served many cities across the United States. We strive to serve as many cities as possible each year, though we aren’t able to serve every city, every year so please check the home page for a list of cities being served for the current year. These are some of those cities we have served in the past:

Whatever you find, and however you give, knowing that you made a difference in the lives of others, even if it is just one day, is a wonderful thing.
